We know that the owners of Premier League champions Manchester City are strongly contemplating to invest in a club in India as part of an effort to increase their presence in Asia, chief executive Ferran Soriano has said. If all goes well, City Football Group (CFG), owner 7 clubs including Major League Soccer's New York City FC, Spanish side Girona, Japan's Yokohama F Marinos and A-League's Melbourne City, will complete the deal for a club in India by the end of the year.

The deal has almost gone through, Ranbir is definitely in the know, and as things stand today- it will come into play next season. CFG officials were in India last year for more than a week and even attended an ISL game between Jamshedpur FC and Mumbai City. After the match, they had termed India as a 'land of opportunity.
